Your government is mandating use of computers by doctors so they can have all of your medical information. Think about that.

An all around shame but I agree with the judge. If you can graduate medical school, you can learn to use a computer.

This headline makes it sound like the judge is being unfair but it's a far more complicated case then that. If she'd had an office assistant this problem might never have happened.

Computers are not necessary to run a medical practice... she also doesn’t need to know how to use one in order to practice, that’s what staff is for.. even one person would be helpful. Poor thing. :(

In any regulated industry, you are going to have to devote time to government forms. It doesn't take a large business to get to the point that you have one or more people that do nothing but handle the government forms and make certain that your records can pass inspection.

I’m sure her records are fine— she’s still practicing at 84. ;)
-
According to the article, she was failing to keep up with the government mandated reporting on opioid prescriptions. I have worked in aviation for close to 30 years. Missing or incorrect government mandated records will get you shut down quicker than anything else.

Must be a new rule. Again, she’s 84. Triplicates are kept for a reason. :)

My Dad used to say that if you can’t do your job without electricity or a computer, you’re doing the wrong job. I’d go to this Dr over my VA doctor any day!

Maybe. But in her case, it doesn’t sound like she’s performing rocket science life or death type procedures that require full technology. She’s a small town doctor that cares more about her patients than their pocketbooks... I’m sure she makes referrals

She shouldn't of lost them in the first place. She can hire someone to do her insurance or data entry. As long as she keeps good records...
