This is blatant neglect. This beautiful little babe should still be alive. My heart breaks for his family...but mostly for him.

This little boy should still be alive. A parent is asked abt allergies at initial intake. The schools responsibility is to KNOW and relay them through proper channels, it’s called communication. Now a little boy is gone, and that’s the saddest part of all.

If its THAT dangerous then surely a child should have some kind of badge visible that alerts everybody to what they cannot eat? The entire staff cant be aware always.

Let this tragedy educate that it's not just nuts that can kill. Any food allergy can. Nut bans don't protect Change conversation.

People think dairy allergies are lactose intolerance, you just get a stomach ache. It's not the same and dairy allergies have killed many.

The issue is Schools and the public think only nuts are dangerous which. Is why schools have nut free policy's. But nothing else.

If they knew he was allergic to dairy, why in God’s name would they give this child cheese? And why not call 911, and why didn’t they have that epiPen for situations like this

How is this day and age is this possible. A beautiful young lady gone because of someone's irresponsibility! These are the things that make you truly mad at people and institutions.

Many persons who work in positions with children don’t take food allergies seriously. They think it means just a little rash even when you explain that reactions can include anaphylaxis. I experienced this with one of my children -not taking it seriously. Need more education.

As a parent with kids in the NYC school system I can speak from experience that school staff routinely ignore or misunderstand dietary instructions they are provided.
