Ha! Not true this is the pharmacutical companies and the medical communities atempt to reel in the opiate epidemic that they started. I guess demonizing people who ligitamately suffer with pain issues stoped working.

Respectfully, before you BROADCAST this article, be advised that it is INHERENTLYdangerous: "In the United States, acetaminophen toxicity has replaced viral hepatitis as the most common cause of acute liver failure." https://emedicine.medscape.com/article/820200-overview … … … https://www.medicinenet.com/tylenol_liver_damage/article.htm#acetaminophen_tylenol_liver_damage_facts … … …pic.twitter.com/5jP6jMLR4A

Are you kidding me! A broken bone is excruciating until it is set and immobilized! They need to give pain meds to the patients that need it. I have been an RN for 25 yrs, and someone with a little experience can assess if someone needs a narcotic.

Many of you miss the point. When treating addiction, it’s a mind issue and sometimes giving an OTC med to an ER patient tricks the mind into thinking they are no longer in “pain” for opioids.
-
Many drs pushed opioids so quickly without a second thought when many times a combination of tylenol and IBU would have been beneficial. Addictions start and continue this way and now we’re scrambling to find fixes.

Not a surprise since opiates do not relieve pain, they alter perception.

That is a completely false headline. It was only tested in isolated extremity injuries where oral medications were recommended and at the 2 hour mark. Also the dosing of the OTC medications was so high that it would never work for chronic pain because of toxicity.
