She needs to get a placard then, doctor can sign off on it. I have to transport my wheelchair-bound father and the spaces are taken up a lot. I see a lot of abuse of those spaces. If you are sick enough to need those spots, then please apply for the placard.
-
I don't think it said that she doesn't. Even people with the placard get harassed for not looking disabled enough to need the spot, it doesn't really make a difference.
-
Yeah it was unclear in the article if she had one displayed. I def agree about people with hidden illnesses being unfairly treated. Remember that woman w/ Lupus who was wearing a headscarf because she lost her hair, was assaulted by people who thought she was muslim or something.
-
The article said that the letter left by the very definition of a know-it-all busy-body accused the young lady of either borrowing one or having a fake one, so yes, one was displayed.
-
Ah thank you, I hadn't looked closely enough at that note which does mention it. These people went above and beyond to be mean.
If I were in that position, I would rather have them ask me in person. We don't start enough conversations and we jump to conclusions...

"Shame on you?" The person who put up these fliers is, IMO, the only one with shame - for being too foolish to understand that disabilities don't need to be visible to exist, and legally allow her to use those spots.

It seems to me the utter lack of empathy and the need to make ones personal judgements of others known causes a lot of unneeded strife. Just be kind to each other. How hard is that??

Okay just because you're not in a wheelchair doesn't mean you're not handicapped. You don't know her life she was legally given a handicap tag no reason to judge her. My mother has one she has a heart condition is someone going to plaster her car too? Don't judge!

Lexi Baskin. If people are so worried about where you park, they should talk to you and ask if you need or want their help. Not start judging. If ignorance is bliss, these people must be unbelievably happy. Im sorry this happened to you.

I'm sorry this happened to her but her response was stellar! Yes! Let everyone be aware that disabling conditions don't always show.

Snowflake airhead? Is that how you refer to the disabled? Solid choice of words.
