She took $13 million for a gambling addiction? If I was immoral, I would've taken that money and fled to a non-extradition country. Then again, I return a $1 bill that I see falling from someone's pocket or purse. That's just me. Too honest.

No you are a decent person. Never apologize for having a clear conscience and a good

-
Indeed. My parents raised me to not take what's not mine without asking first. They also taught me common decency. Tomorrow it could be me who loses my wallet. It's the right thing to do, especially from good Christians. Not that I'm Christian, but my parents still are.
-
Christian or not you have a true Christian heart which is indeed rare. Keep being kind and kindness will follow you.

Odd. $13M? OK, so that business was doing very big sales, or the cashier stole over time. How was it not caught sooner? Marking up the loss?
-
She cooked the books, and no one noticed
-
Or maybe they cooked the books, and could be taking advantage of her theft to claim money they themselves stole.
-
Nah, there was evidence she doctored stuff and she readily cooperated with the investigation & admitted it. She worked out a plea deals her husband is also being prosecuted cuz he knew about it...see the link I posted. I live in SE Pennsylvania & it's the talk of the town herepic.twitter.com/Ce4kqE4ptV

No argument at all, I'm just curious how so much could go missing. The accounting dept. for top management aren't on, or are in on the job
-
It's clear someone was looking over her work without scrutiny. They probably trusted she was doing it right and signed off when doing audits. I've been in charge of money & supplies and was so picky I counted EVERYTHING to the last penny. Someone clearly dropped the ball here.
-
Yep, and my question is, was the ball dropped accidentally, or on purpose? $13M is enough to buy some people.
-
I just know they had yachts and expensive cars and internationally vacationed often. You'd think someone would question how they could afford all that on her salary. And for yearrsssss. The outside audit company should've been fired and ordered to return what they were paid
