Taking down these statues won't change history

Not changing history, just not celebrating it
-
I cannot remember the last time that I saw a celebration around one. If they bother you, look away.
-
You can't? A bunch of people threw a huge rally around a prominent one just yesterday. It didn't end well.
-
I believe they wanted to keep it standing. There is a difference.
-
Sooooo, then they were celebrating it.
-
No they just didn't want history to be forgotten.
-
You lost the Civil War. Get over it already.

You going to redact all Southern history from school books too? Just erase all history then. What about DC statue of Martin Luther King?
-
You're certainly making a leap, Lucy. Why don't we have statues/streets of other combatants against the US?
-
Furthermore, Lucy. MLK wasn't engaged in a war against the Union of the United States. Lucy, your logic is flawed.
-
MLK didn't cause the U.S. to rise up. But he did incite riots. It's an extreme example but said only to not tear down history.
-
Not redact it. It should be taught as all nations have blight on their fabric. We should teach it...not honor it.

These statues are for traitors that lost the war. Take them all down.

Do other countries put up statues to honor traitors?

Put them in museums for traitors and losers. History should not be forgotten but traitors should not be celebrated.
