It's a new question for the internet age: Is there a 1st Amendment right to follow the president's Twitter account? http://cbsn.ws/2rUS2fi pic.twitter.com/WeiYT5346L

No lawyer here but if they are considered official statements no American should be blocked from them.

As an elected official with a government account all people should have ability to follow.

NO. You don't even need a twitter to view his tweets because it's a public account. You have no "right" to tweet at him. Ridiculous question

We don't have a right to free speech with our President? Isn't that what the 1st Amendment guarantees?

First Amendment guarantees individuals the freedom of expression and to petition the government for regress of grievances.

Twitter is not a platform for "petitioning the government." Presidential speeches are televised. Do you also have the right to own a TV?

Equating a presidential speech to the right to own a tv is unfounded and illogical, because people don't petition or post to their TV sets.

The 1st amendment guarantees the right to speak, not the right to an audience.
