I have experience with how schools overreact. I think they would have reacted the same way with any kid.

of course they didn't discriminate, if any kid brought in something that looks like a bomb to school they should investigate.

They waited until after class was finished to call the police. If they thought it was a bomb, they wouldn't waited & put kids in danger.
