Funny that 'overtime', that thing that men are statistically more likely to do, does not get a mention in the overview.
My office employs 5:1 women:men, but all men except me are out the door at 5:00 pm without fail. Most of the women stay as long as needed.

I fully believe this...but I must add that zi quit my previous job of 10+ years after I was denied a raise & then discovered while working..
...on a grant proposal that a newly hired colleague (who happened to be a woman) was paid more w/ only 2 years of post-college experience.
& the new job I accepted, I later found out, paid me significantly less than the woman I replaced.

Changing our culture of making wages intentionally taboo is the only way to change this. Earnings need to be transparent.
I find it curious that studies regularly access wage info & reveal pay inequity, yet workers can't access their employers' pay information.
So is this an EARNINGS gap or a pay gap. Because being paid differently is illegal. Earning different amounts has many causes.
