Kangaroo meat is a very healthy choice and sold in supermarkets throughout Australia. How sad someone lost their job for being innovative.

Innovative? One can only hope the chef was whistling while cooking!

Whistling?
-
In the old times of the sailing ships of the British navy, cooks were allowed to whistle while cooking so the crew knew the cook wasn't eating their portions or spitting in the food.

#Growup! Kangaroo meat is purchasable right now. They aren't endangered, in fact they have to be hunted to prevent overpopulation starvation. It is an Australian export that goes out to 55 countries. And it is extremely lean red meat, unlike American mainstays like beef. - 1 more reply

$24 kg at our local supermarkets. Mind you, I prefer lamb, beef, pork & chicken myself. Funny how we van buy & eat an animal that's on our Coat of Arms, along with an emu, also "On the Barbie"pic.twitter.com/hAOKvYX9LJ

That's just what the Mom of my Sydney-born Son-in-Law said when we visited last October, "felt odd eating an animal on the Coat-of-Arms". Seems odd to me that the cook bought Kangaroo when Nebraska is "The Beef State" with no shortage of beef.

You've got to watch this. It's a very clever Parody on how we Aussies are "Perceived" by new migrants. Episode 2 "Food".https://youtu.be/NE-al0xSFJo

LOL! That's great. No kangaroo here, & not much lamb. We have once enjoyed Himalayan Deer. Dad found him a layin' on the road.
-
I asdume that's what you'd call "Tenderized"
-
The deer around here are corn
fed and tasty. Dad and my Brother -in-law harvested it minutes after it was hit in front of Dad's farm, so there was no spoilage issue. A venison roast was part of the family Thanksgiving dinner that year.

Kangaroo is a completely legal food in Australia. So is Emu. And both are Australia's national animals found on the countries Crest. Any other country eat their national animal (s) Hell they even make purses out of kangaroo nut sacks in Australia.
