Only right that they pay. They do a lot of damage to the grass and concrete and there is always trash that they leave behind.

Freedom to protest is now a target?just keep moving down the constitution, what else is going to get attacked?
-
You don’t have freedom to make a mess. It’s becoming an industry instead of what it should be for.
-
Trump is making a huge mess. Hold him accountable.
-
Absolutely! It just sucks that the constitution has to be attacked like this bc of all the mess Trump is causing

This story is proof, and admission of truth, that the "protesters" are not organic but instead are paid actors. Fake protests = Fake news Not only charge them for cleanup, but penalize them for occupying law enforcement manpower on theatrics.
-
Bad enough they gather to be violent and and use hate speech we shouldn't have to fork out to clean up their trash!

Seems the National Park service has forgotten about the pesky 1st amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
-
US Constitution didn’t exclude cost to pay for the destruction of the parks, monuments, littering, etc. to prevent others right to enjoy. If anything charging a fee guarantee the 1st Amendment Rights.
-
What part of "infringe" isn't English to you? The Parks service has a budget that should cover the clean up. Don't bother replying, I can already smell the Trump on you.
-
So you’ll listen to infringe for the first amendment but not second? Shame on you for cherry picking.

Sounds like a great idea. This would have no effect on individual protesters, just those organized and bussed in by organizers.

Not the park service. Trump is wanting this. Its called censorship of free speech.
-
1) This is to cover the cost support & cleaning of the protest, as was clearly noted in the article. 2) It IS the National Park Service, & their reasoning reaches back to 2012 which is pre-Trump. 3) You're not even quoting the right section of the 1A. This is assembling.

On principle, no. On practice, they keep showing up and making a huge mess with poster laying around — who’s gonna clean it up?

Why of course they do. A tRump suggestion I bet. Anything for a buck. They don't seem to realize WE the PEOPLE already pay for all the parks and the freaking house DJT lives in while not off at rallies, golfing, and in general not doing his job.
-
You slobbs need to clean up after yourselves. You are like a bunch of 2 year old babies. Crying, smashing, screaming, throwing trash....Grow up! Just like a lefty, always needing somebody else to clean up their messes. Why should every one else pay to clean your mess.
