This wouldn't be happening if the 60 vote rule was still in place. We could actually have a conversation. McConnell's "outrage" is nothing more than theater. You could relaease the Bushe era papers as requested and act like leaders for a bloody change.
-
Apparently you haven’t been watching the hearings. Grassley said on record all the documents requested could be viewed in his office 24/7. No one took advantage. 60 vote rule on judges was killed by Harry Ried.

That is Bull***t..she's stalling on purpose..there is nothing for FBI to investigate from 35 years...they're just wasting time till after midterm...its so damn obvious.
-
I realize you don’t know but this is exactly what needs to happen. A trained criminal investigator can interview and more reliably determine facts than any polygraph. It’s what they do for a living.
-
I appreciate that but one minute she's ready to testify now she wants FBI investigation..I think they should stick to Monday like it or not.. This man should not be dragged thru mud for weeks....if there is a crime..testify and prove it..

One woman has come forward, but like having mice, their might be 10 we haven't seen!!!
-
Or it might be exactly what it looks like, an attempt to stall in hopes of a change at midterm. I guess an accusation after 35 years right before conf makes sense to you?

Seems as if she is not so confident in her own memory. He seems more than willing to testify. Don’t bring it up if you won’t back it up. Just another case of democratic dirty politics.

You would think Kavanaugh would want the same. Why doesn't he?
-
Not the fbi’s job. It is not their jurisdiction. It does not involve a crime within their purview to investigate. They are not like handymen for hire acc. to whatever someone needs doing.

I thought the “F” in FBI stood for “federal”? Am I wrong? She should’ve taken her bullsh*t story to the local police back when it happened 36 yrs ago. Oh wait - 35 yrs ago. Maybe 47 yrs ago. She’s not sure......

What the heck are they going to investigate? She doesn't remember where it happened, when it happened or who was there...

Now that she has been invited to testify and refused, what she wants is irrelevant.
-
It isn't. She is not under subpoena. An investigation by the FBI prior to testimony will take this from the realm of she said/he said. Senators will be able to judge credibility based on evidence.
-
No evidence exist. She can’t remember when, where or who. Her allegations don’t match therapist notes. Her reputation by her own social circle tainted. And her only named eye witness calls her a liar... no evidence case closed..
-
Tear up your JD. Testimony IS evidence. Therapist's notes ARE evidence. You are attempting to discredit her when YOU have no firsthand knowledge whatsoever.

The FBI has already investigated Brett Kavanaugh SIX times for various government positions. No accusation has ever come up until now, and the accuser would rather delay than speak under oath.
-
Actually he lied on a couple background checks. Including disclosing where $200,000 in debt disappeared to. He bought a house, paid $92,000 in country club dues, made between $60,000 to $150,000 in unsecured credit card debt vanish and his income can’t cover it.
-
Where did the debt go? Did he fail to disclose or did someone pay it (which also must be disclosed)? Either way he lied under oath. This is before we even discuss whether or not he was a rapey young man.
-
I don't handle the guys finances, ask him. I do know The FBI has already investigated Kavanaugh SIX times, and this lady's story appears to be a political delay tactic.
