She did everything except evacuate in time and then compounded 1 bad decisions by making another. I’m sorry that her child died but at the end of the day he’s dead because of her negligence.

Chances are she, and tens of thousands of others, could not afford to evacuate. Travel costs $. Gas, bus, train or airfare. Hotel. Time off work. Why so judgemental of this woman’s tragedy? Do you have empathy for her at all?

Why was she crossing flooded waters?! The baby was exposed by an irresponsible decision of an adult. Sorry

If you can’t say anything nice then shut the hell up

Except evacuate
-
SHUT UP!
-
NO she should not shut up because you don't want to hear the truth. She made a bad decision and she will live with that for the rest of her life. that is TRAGIC, and telling people to shut up has no place here!

No sympathy for her, she drove her car around a barrier and into flood water covering the road
-
I feel bad for her. That’s her kid man. Nobody said she was smart, but that’s doesn’t mean we have to be cold hearted. It was a kid, not a pet.
-
I feel bad for the kid too. But that’s child endangerment. I live in the same county as her. 200 miles from the coast. No evacuations here and weren’t needed. We were under a curfew though because of the “roads” around the streams. She had no need to be on the road.
-
Yeah it’s an awful outcome. I have a 16 month old and I can’t imagine her getting hurt let alone watching her die as I couldn’t hold onto her. Talk about lifetime guilt. Omg. And yeah it was beyond a dumb decision, but I’m still going to feel bad for her.

Did everything you could except not drive in to a flooded road, or you know not be on the road during a storm.

Everyone saying maybe she was too poor to evacuate. She was driving in her car driving. She should’ve done that before the storm hit. RIP little one.
-
exactly, she had a nice car, but she chose to go and pay a visit to her Grandmother's which was an hour drive.
-
And she also drove around barricades knowing damn well the roads were closed due to them being washed out by swiftly flowing water.
