The cartoon is after Serena made an ass of herself by telling a Major League lie about the “coaching” that did happen. She lied her ass off about that, even evoking her daughter in the lie.

It's what she did, how is that racist? I guess if all you see is a woman of color and nothing else. Stop with fake outrage.
-
I see the inequity of a call that rarely, if ever has been applied to anyone else man or woman. I know women get dinged more by ref’s if they challenge”like the men”. F that! Call it what u will it is wrong no bueno. Insult to injury its not like the ref was new or inexperienced
-
She got her A$$ handed to her and made her opponent cry, that was her hero she was playing. It was not her moment. Even after when they handed her the trophy they still made it about serena. Sickening.
-
Not sure how you "make someone cry" or if we should care, unless violence was involved. You are right Williams and unfair judging was the topic at the time. You are also right that "what's her name" from Japan won the match.
-
She through out the gender card, too funny. She doesn't know how to take a loss like most liberals and is quick to throw out the discrimination card. Male tennis players have been penalized for similar actions in the same way. Maconroe is just one off the top of my head. So Fake.

Racist has lost its meaning...just like feminism. Add in MeToo for good measure. *yawn*

I don’t believe the cartoon is “racist” it’s just making fun of how she was acting.

Did you need to put "racist" in quotes?

It’s not racist it’s a caricature of what some really saw. Only has herself to blame
-
Are her lips really that big? Is her nose really that big?
-
Look up the definition of a caricature and u will b better informed
-
Yeah. And if a person has big lips and a big nose than it is drawn in their caricature. That’s what a caricature does. But Serena doesn’t have big lips or nose. That is a stereotype of African Americans that this artist exploited ie. racist

If anyone can explain how this is racist or sexist or unfair to Serena, please do so. It is exactly how she appeared, a bad tempered bad sport abusing her position as a champion and trying to justify it somehow

@jk_rowling should keep writing fantasy stories. and stop take care of real life. serena is a super star ok, but she's not above the law and above public critics. anyway, thank you@jk_rowling for giving a worldwide visibility to the cartoonist.Thanks. She threw an epic temper tantrum and the artist of the cartoon mocked her for it. Those seeing the racial undertones in the artwork are the ones that need to address whatever issues they personally have.
-
Right, Naomi depicted as a white woman with blonde hair; try harder.
-
Naomi in the cartoon was a complete afterthought. The opponent was irrelevant to the point being made.
-
Sounds like a convenient excuse; if she was an afterthought, why did she need to be included?
-
Because tennis matches require two players and the ump was addressing the second.
