The adult woman standing there has precisely zero reaction? She clearly didn't see it coming, but didn't even flinch when it happened? Odd.

Not that this is an excuse, but is that stop sign on the bus even facing the driver? It looks like it is directed toward the house

It didn’t extend. This driver should have immediately called for a new bus and discontinued their pickup for safety reasons. I’ve had to do it a few times to prevent this from happening.

Or at least taken it to a maintenance bay so it would have gotten fixed. Bottom line: there are more people at fault with this situation than solely the driver

While the driver is clearing at fault 🤬 there is some onus on the child to look to make sure the coast is clear. I walked my daughter to the bus EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for 5 years & looked to see what was coming bc I KNEW what kind of drivers are out there. Distracted & speeding.

Parents should teach kids not to dependent on right of the way Literally only you can really protect yourself by double checking before crossing

As a driver myself, first thing I noticed - A) The stop sign arm is malfunctioning and it didn’t extend when the bus stopped B) The parent needs to ensure their kids know to wait for the driver’s signal to cross...

Just because the bus is there don’t mean you don’t have to look both ways still. Also, that car shouldn’t have been going that fast.

1-the bus did not have the stop sign out. 2- the child didn’t even look to see if it was safe to cross. Too busy talking. Not always the other person’s fault. Maybe he should teach his son safe crossing and take responsibility

Properly raised kids will look both ways even if they’re crossing a one-way street.

You should slow down when you see a bus like that regardless of the stop sign being out.
