Nope it isn’t. She cheated, lied, was unpolite and showed 0 sportsmanship to her fellow opponent.

She deserved better and so did Osaka. The chair judge decided she needed to be taught a lesson and abused his place of power, and this fine is an insult and attempt to again embarrass her. Disgusting.

Did her coach in a player box make a hand gesture that she noticed, and knew had a meaning other than what it normally does, Yes. Did she break a racket when frustrated after, Yes. Did she go on a tirade about the calls afterward and make a legal allegation the ump was a Thief?

Sorry but with her actions I am not sure how one could be embarrassed any further than throwing a tantrum, making false legal allegations, and trying to justify rule-breaking at the Grand Slam, the World Championship match.

Yup, it’s not the money, it’s the fine itself and the championship she threw away, behaving below her usual standards. If she didn’t throw her racquet because she lost control of herself, she never would have had a game penalty and would have still had a shot...she blew it.

Shame on Serena...as a mature player, she should be aware of the rules..to continue whining is not setting a good example to anyone. let alone her lovely daughter. I have absolutely lost all respect for her...but of course she would call me sexist..:)

Such bad behavior Serena! I am one of your truest fans, but you have let me down along with so many others. You were disgraceful to the game and to your opponent. Quit blaming it on gender.,YOU LOST....OWN IT, apologize and determine to be a better person.

coffee change for Serena-- in hockey, she would have been ejected from game. For the post-match crap whining about officials, she would have suspension and probably contract torn up. Serena has the art of poor sportsmanship and temper tantrums mastered.

Her fans are violating moral code wih their cruel evil personal attacks on Naomi Osaka's social media. They are using unethical brutal intimidation technique. Since Serena won't call out her fans' viscous brutality, then Serena will need to be held accountable.
