As someone that has pushed and been pushed off a cliff & a diving board in my youth, this was just young innocence. I'm sure a lot of people have. Sometimes we all need that "push" to break our fear barrier. Unfortunately, the girl was severely hurt. There was no malice.

I disagree Joe. This was not a sanitized site with a diving board, in a man-made environment. And the elevation was many times that of any diving event. She is a cruel person at best...it was not teenage mischief
-
Neither was the cliff jumped from. This wasn’t a diving event, didn’t say it was. Cliffs & bridges are higher than diving platforms. I assume u never jumped off one. I’ve been to this bridge. Never jumped off of it. But people do. Not all intentions are bad.

I was a diver in high school. At 19, I did the cliff twice in Acapulco. 4 yrs in USASF, skydived, halo jumps, private pilot etc. I wasnt on the bridge, neither were you. Slapping her on the hand will teach her she can get away with it. Victims parents should decide her fate.

If this young lady had died, she’d be looking at a lot more time than a year, if she gets that! Maybe this will be a deterrent to others kids!

Good lord. This is a no-brainer you have to go to jail for a malicious act like this one. You can’t be soft as that may encourage others to act just as reckless.

Punishment does not fit the crime...too soft. Joke? Maybe. But the circumstances support she knowingly, cruely intended harm

Oh well. Think before you act, I guess, is the lesson being taught here.

Even the victim knows they were playing. Community service? Yes. Probation? Yes. Jail time? No. Criminal history? No. She feels extremely bad what happened to her friend and never meant to hurt her. No criminal intentions.
-
Why would you defend her? She even lied after and said the victim told her to push her
