This is poorly worded. The officer and the girl were the same race. The girl was shoplifting. The officer tased her because she was fleeing and gave her a lecture. He was trying to help her.

Why does ANY police officer need to shoot at ANY child? Was he in"fear for his life"...?
When a community see #policebrutality but not SWIFT prosecution/punishment/termination of trigger-happy/"bad apple" cops ie#justice, OF COURSE the community loses trust in its police dept.pic.twitter.com/TFiwMf7fNO -
Exactly,..it’s a damn child,..he’s the unprepared adult, “a man”..who obviously doesn’t know better how to interact with a kid!!

Confused. The girl was a shoplifter (and was black). The officer (who was also black) legally used a a stun gun (or TASER? Not the same) to stop her when she tried to run, and afterwards pointed out that in addition to hurting herself, her actions hurt her community. Right?
-
Exactly,..a shame some people on here have the nerve to call her..A CHILD,!!!..a thug..

If they had bothered to give the facts in this story with outball the dividong propaganda it would have read:Cop uses taser instead of gun to teach disrespectful shoplifting thug the difference between right and wrong;also explains why certain communities are looked down upon!
-
This is a CHILD, who made a BAD decision, mistake,..NOT a disrespectful thug!!..not all black people are THUGS
-
Absolutely correct ! They ALL are not....but some people ( no matter their race )are ! This " child " was more than old enough to know the difference between right and wrong ! She chose the latter and got caught ! Why defend her wrong doing ?
-
A better way of handling the situation and show her the right way without scaring her to death would be to go to her house talk to her AND her parents, handle the situation in a better way, because if her PARENTS had taken that route they’d be charged with child abuse
-
Agreed!Todays police are not reaponsible for parenting today's youth. His split second decision might not have been the same one you or I would make but it was HIS to make. The police are scared that every move they make(right or wrong)will land them in court.Losing either way.

11!! She’s 11!! There is NO reason a stun gun should be used on a 11-YEAR-OLD child. That is cruel and unusual punishment

Something like that basically NEVER, EVER Happens.

American policing is an inherently racist institution..just read some history and current events. Not just the high profile stuff. "Good cops" are basically dispatched out of the force for not being racist (aka "insubordination) all the time.
