Both the headline and the tweet wildly misrepresent the actual policy proposed.

I believe this has been the point for just about 3 years in regards to the media and their tactics. Sad part is these headlines are how the vast majority of people form their opinions.

Yeah it owns

No. They'll just close their biz and put their money to work elsewhere. Meanwhile, those people who had jobs are now jobless AND can't afford to clothe their kids.

The legislation would "impose a 100 percent tax on companies equal to the amount of federal benefits received by their employees. If a worker collected $2,000 in food stamps, for instance, the employer would be taxed $2,000 to cover the cost."

100% tax... yeah, that sounds like a sustainable model. Bernie is such a genius. Now all that’s left for him is to hand over 100% of his assets and any loose change he might be carrying.

Good job reading the actual article, and policy. A+ lol

I read it, it was a hot socialist mess. Also fkn clickbait. A+

This headline is so preposterous and unjustified by anything in the article that it can only be called a lie.

Maybe you should ask Bernie to comment on the Kavanaugh hearings? I haven’t seen much interest in his part. Is that bcuz women’s rights, inc reproductive rights, and civil rights, aren’t really in his wheelwagon?

this isnt even that radical
-
it's super distortionary and doesn't accomplish the "helping poor people" part of it. if you think the shareholders of big companies are making too much, increase capital gains tax. if you want wages to go up, address monopsony and push for unions/codetermination. this is silly
-
Those would be good options, yes. But this highlights the power dynamic for the public—that’s the real goal. It primed the pump for deeper reforms.
