You will see more employers doing this, particularly small businesses. They can't afford to pay someone while they take materity leave, then train and hire someone else to replace them, only to fire them when the new mother comes back.

Most maternity leaves are unpaid. Very few businesses offer paid leave.

Some states now require it. I believe NY just started requiring it. Those on the left want to do it on a national level. Even Trumps daughter is pushing for him to implement it. It's something that will likely be happening sooner than later.

When I was pregnant my employer at champs sports bar fired me when they found out... I didn't do anything about it because I figured they could do whatever they wanted to do. That was over 10 years ago. I know how it feels. I'm glad that she did something about it & has support

Wow, why being a woman is a punishment? It's just plain deplorable that when we choose to have children that we have to pay the price. No one has the right to tell us when we can and cannot have children or a life. Shame on those of you who cannot see that.
