Well, that's why I don't vote for them anymore. Easiest choice ever.

I just visited a friend I haven't seen in a few years. He saved up cash and left his construction job to open a bar after coming up with a solid business plan. It's alot of work but he's been successful. Socialism kills this type of dream.
-
I have a friend who lives in a Socialist country. He described it this way. "It's like a very pretty aquarium in the ocean. Everything is under control, but you're not free."
-
That's actually a great analogy

Putting "Democratic" in front of something doesn't change what it is. Some examples. Democratic Syphilis Democratic Jock Itch Democratic Bankruptcy. See? It didn't minimize any of the unpleasant realities at all.

I don’t think they know what socialism is. They think socialism is free healthcare from the magical Canada Fairy, they haven’t read 1 page of actual Marx
-
I think you are right. But you also perfectly framed where the right committed suicide by being drama queens. If affordable healthcare = socialism then people will want socialism. If pre existing conditions and skimpy coverage is capitalism they pass on capitalism.
-
Well, perpetual fear of nuclear apocalypse and untrammeled Stalinistic tyranny will make most people jumpy. Your right though. There’s nothing godlessly communist about removing pre-existing conditions. I just wished they’d stop calling Capitalism with regulations “socialism”.
-
Agreed. State ownership of industry is not a great idea. Healthcare for all, childcare for all, cheap or free college, etc... are great ideas and all not socialism to anyone but republican propagandists
