Sad that employers have to do the work that we should have grown up with as kids. Kindergarten was all caring and sharing, guess it's diddly squat now.

Please explain to me how a deaf woman uses a drive thru, how she sees employees mocking her. I’ve been to a drive thru, you speak into a box and barely see the person taking your money. This one stumped me.

At the one I visit regularly, I "speak into a box", see the screen w/my order on it, drive on to the payment window (see & hear some of the kitchen), chit chat with cashier, drive to pick-up window where I see & hear the entire service area.

Thanks. I rarely use a drive thru, I guess they’ve progressed.

You're welcome. They are probably all a little bit different, but as one can tell from my "regular" one, it is absolutely possible for the drive-thru customer to have a pretty good idea of what is going on behind the windows and beyond.

Sensitivity training my ass!Fire ‘em they don’t belong in any job dealing with the public. If they weren’t taught common decency and morals at home all the training in the world won’t change that..

I hope they have made an attempt to apologize to the lady. These companies are traditionally employing young people who will work for low pay. Nothing new there, but this new generation of young people seem to all need sensitivity training. I hope the employee was fired.

To think companies have to train people to have compassion, tolerance, and step outside of their own bubble.

Why would anybody need so-called "sensitivity training."? If an individual and employee does not nor can not relate to people with disabilities either the hiring process is at fault or the the company's corporate culture is toxic. In either event boycott the company.
