37 hours and he was already eating tree bark?

Was thinking the same thing. I mean humans can survive a month or more without food, I'm more surprised he didn't get dehydrated.

Wait, is this a typo? He “survived” 37 hours? I’d have to be at least 48 hours without food before I resorted to bug eating.

37 hours... "survived"? Idk if 37 hours is enough time to get hungry enough to eat tree bark & roaches.

A Scout is always prepared. Teach my Cubs the 6 essentials that go in their backpack. A whistle is a must. He should have had one on him to signal his location. Smart that he rationed his trail food.

What was the guys name from WW2 that survived 38 days on a raft lost at sea only to be rescued by the Japanese and tortured in a camp? Yea he's laughing in his grave right now.

        A) Shouldn’t a Boy Scout know how to not get lost? B) I went nearly 37 hours without food before my colonoscopy and was not allowed to eat bugs *or* bark. C) What would he have done if he was taken from his parents and locked in a cage?
