Well, seeing as their generation let university tuition skyrocket, economic inflation runaway, mass transit flatline, union-protected middle class labor suffocate out, end-point age of workers go so high that younger hires drop, and Social Security roll towards a collapse...

I have 25 and 28 yr old sons.I’m also in contact with 25-30 yr olds everyday in my business.Almost everyone says their biggest concern is paying off their student loans and trying to keep a good credit rating so they can eventually buy a house/condo.They’re anything but lazy.
-
Nobody made them go to college... Except maybe you
-
A: my job doesn’t pay enough to live on. You: get a better one. Go to college. A: can’t afford it. You: get a loan. A: now I’m in debt. You: shouldn’t have gone to college. Just say “fuck poor people” and save us all some time.

Or enter a trade school/apprenticeship to get your feet in the door then use that company to further your education since a lot of decent companies offer tuition reimbursement..

Wow sounds super easy, why aren’t we all doing that, I wonder? Is it that maybe it isn’t nearly as common or accessible as you say it is?
@LateOnsetADHD1 how long ago was your 20s? -
Admittedly, a long time ago. If you followed my thread you would know I have 25 and 28 yr old sons who are in exactly the situation most mid-20s are and I’m doing whatever I can to help them, including letting them live with me for free. I wish I could do more.

My point is in the US , if you’re not rich or have family able and willing to help or know people, or are just plain lucky, you have either have limited career options or you’re gonna go in debt. That doesn’t seem fair. And it’s weird when people can’t recognise they were lucky

Not true at all. Lots of people start in trade schools just to end up starting their own company once they gain the knowledge and experience. Go into a company at entry level and earn their way up and take extra classes paid for by the company.

If they’d keep wages up with inflation maybe that wouldn’t be necessary.

Parents didn’t teach their children to save nor financial responsibilities. Your first teachers are your parents. They are still holding the purse string, keeps the kids coming back to visit cause they know they need the money. The kids want that inheritance too.
