Every day, in border towns, hundreds of pregnant women cross just have an anchor baby in an American hospital. They overwhelm local resources b/c many are high risk. This takes a toll on the legal US obstetric population. But of course it’s doubtful these people looked into that.

I developed an infection in my uterus after a C-section. The hospital sent me home even though I was running a low grade fever. I was readmitted 3 days later. If I continued with their advice of taking tylenol, I could have died. I was home screaming n pain. So I definitely agree

I'm glad you're okay. How scary! We should take better care of people.

Thank you. That experience was definitely an eye opener.

I have a cousin and a friend who died within the same year after giving birth. It's a pretty damn traumatic experience for everyone involved, and leaves no one untouched.

I wonder how much of this has to do with C-Sections being all but forced on women more and more, for insurance payout and bed-turnover reasons. It's disgusting

The doctors are usually MIA during the whole thing until the last minute, leaving the nurses to do all the real work, at least that's been my observation.

This is really shameful and what hurts even more is that the reason behind most cases is patient neglect.
