I'm wondering how this is enforceable or legal. Shouldn't companies be able to choose perks for their employees?

Proposal for businesses moving in to another part of the city.

Now they’ll be known as the $0.01cent lunch perk.
-
My old company use to do that. They’d charge $3 for what would normally go for a $15 meal.

They should ban free air and free parking at these company locations.

I would meal prep. I would literally make my own lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY and never eat out or support those businesses. You’re not going to dictate where I eat!

This is like when hotels and motels started offering free breakfast, it totally screwed all the restaurants around them.

Still wouldn't work. So they stop giving food to their employees. They will sell much cheaper then local restaurants. And it's also the convenience of it as well. Also if I can walk and have food in 5 minutes vs driving and having food in 10-15 minutes......

As more government oversight comes into play. These companies will just move onto another city and then there goes the neighborhood.

A sign of incompetence is when you obsess over trivial matters as a way to distract yourself from having to deal with the important stuff in front of you. Between this, plastic straw ban, and other moronic "causes",
#SanFrancisco is proving they are governed by idiots.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If
#SanFrancisco wants to help restaurants, they can start by getting the shit off the streets.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Where in the hell does city gov't believe it gets the legal, moral, ethical authority to ban private companies from offering their employees lunch? Liberals are oppressive tyrants who believe in gov't central planning...anti-American, anti-freedom & liberty...fascists.

I think that the people who work for the tech companies are smart to eat the companies food. There are no cheap fast food eating places in Palo Alto or Mountain View. Who wants to spend so much on food if you can get it for free. They need to open a Norms or Denny's.
