It didn't get physical until Markeis McGlockton pushed Michael Drejka to the ground. Tough break. Whatever happened to "What's your problem dude?" instead of a cold-cocked shove?

The video clearly shows him backing away once the gun was drawn. You don't shoot a man in retreat no matter what he's done to you. And you damn sure don't pull a gun in a hand to hand situation.

And if some random person was yelling in your wife's face, you would probably push him too. This wasn't an entirely unprovoked incident. But, no. I wouldn't pull a gun because someone pushed me. And if I did, I definitely wouldn't fire that gun if the other guy is backing off.

But shooting someone who's backing away? That's never justified

The older man has a history of being confrontational and for pulling his gun unprovoked. Don't like to yourself. He's no innocent victim. Neither were right but no one deserved to die in this situation

what was the victim trying to teach his son? how to push people to the ground?
-
The man was defending his wife. She was in the car with the kids.
-
and, the shooter didn't reach in... and, they had no placard for the handicapped space, so they're teaching their son, in this scenario, that it's okay to ignore the handicapped parking??
-
Don’t have to reach in, if you’re standing at the window yelling at my wife we gone have some words. Probably couldn’t hear what words were said but if you look out a window of the store and see someone acting aggressive toward your family are you just gonna sit there?
-
my family was aggressive; I walked away from them 'cause I couldn't watch them victimize others anymore, thinking that they were 'right'... true, though, that the audio wasn't clear.
-
it's funny, tho most of the folks who are "Proud Americans" don't even KNOW when their local elections ARE... and don't vote in the potus election... so, we get idiot after idiot because no one votes... I'm a veteran; I listen to the complaints, but they never vote...
-
and a loud-ass potus, who doesn't even research what he boasts about, only stirs people up... people want to make a change, and the potus isn't making one... they use numbers to say he's creating jobs... yeah, he's ALSO selling BANDAGES in his OWN supposed nation!

The law worked pretty efficiently. The guy was wrong for illegally parking in a handicap spot. Then the same guy physically assults the other guy, trying to correct the situation. The guy that got shot was the catalyst to his own fate, any way you look at it.
-
1)Had he been more aware, and 'chose' a parking spot designated for him, he'd be alive. 2)Had he made the 'choice' to approach the other man less physically aggressive, he'd be alive. He was a casualty of his own poor decisions. Raise awareness, not restrictions.
-
Had the man just minded his own fucking business it wouldn’t have happened either. White ppl feel like they always have to be the one to correct a situation.
-
Correct. I 100% agree. But that guy is 100% eliminated from the equation... simply by having courtesy for handicapped individuals, and parking in the designated area for able bodied people. Just, doing what you're supposed to.
-
Better decision making, prevents the potential for negative consequences, from ever happening.
-
The shooter had a gun and knew if It came down to it he was gonna use it. Ppl who carry guns are usually confrontational in these situations cause they’re itching to shoot somebody “legally”.
-
You're trying to predict another individuals mindset based on personal opinion. The fact that he just got manhandled to the ground (that's life threatening, while yelling is not), gave him the legal right to use it. So, he sniffed a good time because it was as law intended.
-
And, again, I think it was less sniffing, more... poor decision making. He, made poor choice 2 by initiating physical assault. Thereby giving the assaulted, the right to use a gun in self defense.
