Not to be that guy who nitpicks, but to be clear it's anonymous until it leaves the Bitcoin network. I think that will be the case with any cryptocurrency; eventually it needs to interact with the real world.

So to idiot #1, Bitcoin doesn't need a selling point, its an algorithmic protocol that keeps itself decentralized, To Idiot #2 and I quote "BTC isn't anonymous at all, but you have wallets with no ID attached, but you can see the transaction". Duh..someone failed BTC 101.

This is sort of true. It's actually not tied to the wallet. It's tied to the specific segments of bitcoin. Most wallets just lump it altogether but you could keep it separate if you wanted to. Of course if you didn't mine it yourself they could trace it back to say Coinbase.
