He was a good side character, but his arc had no resolution. Ah well. Maybe the writers are going to bring him back in a later season.

The worlds premier pediatric heart surgeon, Dr. Magdy Yacoub, an FRCS surgeon in the UK and knighted by the Queen, cannot practice in the US, without going through a residency. Thank you, AMA.

I am so tired of this discussion which implicity blames the doctor. Consider this phrase: Physicians -- with employer support -- will need to prioritize taking better care of themselves, he suggested. Oh, so the doctor was not taking care? It had nothing to do with the system?

My wife is getting that shit at work right now, they're massively short staffed in her clinic, so management is helpfully making them take a stress management course, during work hours.

My dr’s office is now offering patients an option to email questions & get a response w/in 24 hours from the doctor/PA. So now doctors/PAs/NPs who might have had an evening at home to decompress & have personal time are instead dealing w/ patient emails. This will burn them out!

For sure! You do not need to convince me, sadly I've been on the receiving end.💔 In hind-sight, I should've sued, but trying to stay alive seemed more important at the time.

We are all on the receiving end. Docs don't want to hurt people. Mistakes haunt us forever. There are a lot of things that need to be changed and not a lot of great solutions.

I'm not so sure the actual perpetrators were haunted, I was an inpatient & shit just kept going wrong for nearly 6 months. I never saw them again. But I see a couple of the peripheral docs that rotated thru & they are haunted!

Not necessarily but my wife gave birth twice. I have 4 family members who are nurses. The only time I saw the doc was right before anything major had to be done. Nurses did almost everything, literally. So imagine those burned out 14 hr shift nurses feel.

Nurses are absolutely incredible. But don’t think because you’re not physically seeing the doctor that that means he/she isn’t working their asses off doing paperwork, ordering tests, ordering prescriptions, checking up with other patients, dealing with emergencies, breaking

Horrific news to family members of patients, etc. Every member in the hospital has duties that are specific to their role, and without each of them working their hardest things would never work out. Don’t think doctor’s are lazy because in your one experience you didn’t see them

And absolutely nurses feel burnout too, as they should! Working in a hospital, regardless of your role, is exhausting (physically, mentally, and emotionally).
