Someone should mention that Harley-Davidson’s will still be made in America that are sold in America!
@realDonaldTrump should be told that they’re an American icon while he’s an American disgrace He’s courting other bike makers? Now there’s a joke! Who Kawasaki made in the USA

Aside from the fact that this is egregious abuse of power, competitors will not come to the US for the same reasons Harley Davidson is leaving. Additionally they won't have the repatriation advantage Trump has already given Harley to leave making the threat a joke on Trump.

Harley Davidson has some pretty loyal customers do you really want to go there.
-
I really do not see a dedicated Harley consumer jumping ship and selecting a bike make in Japan or from Europe. Harley is a religion for the most hardcore
-
Not to mention if it isn’t entirely built in the US. They will have the same problem.
-
All bikes and cars have Asian parts. But only one company has 5200 US employees, 30% US market share, large dealership network in US. Not sure when the MAGA cult will get to the
cool aid point. Soon? -
If they haven’t seen the light by now there isn’t much hope.

Unfortunately some of those
#HarleyDavidson competitors are from countries where Trump's slapping on trade sanctions? What's a petty, vindictive, small minded, failed business leader and president to do? -
There's no trade sanction on products made in the US. If those sanctioned companies want to sell in the US, they'll build in the US. (Or at least that's the idea)pic.twitter.com/GgQ9F35rNe

Yeah, huh, that's not what BMW is saying, and they build in the US for the US and exports to China. I'm not sure 'the idea' is very well thought out.http://www.goupstate.com/news/20180702/bmw-warns-tariffs-could-cut-us-production …

More complex an idea than I'm able to figure out. I just know that other countries tax our stuff but if we try to tax theirs, all hell breaks loose. It's not really free trade if we're the only ones getting taxed.
-
That's what Trump and Co would like you to believe, but the facts don't bear this out. We have tariffs and subsidies to US companies and agriculture as do other countries. It IS complex, that's why you don't make trade policy via tweet.
-
Can't argue with that

Let me get this straight - he ran off a perfectly stable AMERICAN company and now will personally help foreign competitors move in to the US to take their place? WOW! That's the Amereican Way!!! (???)

This seems like a completely normal move by a totally patriotic official who has the best interests of the US at heart. Thanks, voters. You really had your finger on the pulse of society.
-
It's a surreal nightmare, isn't it? Quite a story for the grandkids assuming we don't all get nuked.
