The police officer should be fired and criminal charges brought against him.

Excessive use of force. Fire the officer. Charge him with a crime. No excuse.

Multiple crazy commands and a passively resisting subject. Hitting him with a Taser gives all of LE a bad name.

Ok, I 100% believe there are too many over-violent arrests, but this is not one of them. Come on
@CBSNews, you are better than this inflammatory article. It was clear, beyond doubt, that he was not complying with police instructions. -
Let's use a stun gun on you and see how you feel. He crossed his ankles. Just in a different way than they wanted. If you can't subdue/handcuff a sitting man, you need a diff job.
-
He never crossed his ankles. He placed his feet together. And it does matter how he crosses his feet. What if he had a weapon in his sock, shoe, etc. That is why following instructions matter, just like facts. “Extend your legs and cross your feet”....not that difficult”pic.twitter.com/cJezKomosY
-
I can cross my ankles sitting like he was sitting. At least three people were yelling different directions He had basketball sports shorts. Like I said if you're too weak or afraid to arrest someone, be a teacher or a ranger.
-
We will agree to disagree. In my humble opinion, just watching the video several times & placing myself in the shoes of a juror, this individual was instructed several times to comply. He did not & then made a move to which the officer behind was forced to react. Thx 4 the debate
-
There's certain protocol. You search them, cuff them n stuff em. This cop is afraid to even touch this guy. He's clearly too afraid to even cuff him.
-
Thanks for the debate!

This is so WRONG! The man was doing as he was told, the male police officer told him to put his legs out, he did and then a female voice said to put them ou and cross them, as soon as he brought them up to cross them he was tasered. He was under the influence. SHM

Nothing wrong if the said man is under the influence of liquor & maybe he was talking bad words loudly.
-
you don’t taser people for ‘bad words’ . Tasers can kill. What a bizarre take.

This officer should be fired. No excuse for shooting a man in the back with taser. He even had his arms out. No threat to the officer. Terrible.
