This racism is not supported by peer reviewed, scientific fact based studies. A true concern for public safety calls for an objective policy, not one that merely relies on inaccurate, negative, unproven stereotypes.

The most comprehensive multi factorial study of dog-bite related fatalities determined that breed was NOT a factor. https://www.nationalcanineresearchcouncil.com/sites/default/files/Potentially-Preventable-Husbandry-Factors-Co-occur-in-Most-Dog-Bite-Related-Fatalities-2015.pdf …

#BSL (breed specific legislation) is on the decline. The American Bar Assn., the@CDCgov, the@AVMAvets , the Natl. Animal Control Assn.,@HumaneSociety,@ASPCA & national expert@bestfriends ALL oppose breed specific legislation. -
Why? Because BSL doesn’t work—breed bans don’t reduce dog-bite related injuries or ensure public safety. They perpetuate inaccurate stereotypes and create a false sense of safety.

And to anyone citing DBO—please stop. Don’t embarrass yourself by citing the equivalent of a cheap grocery store tabloid that doesn’t disclose where it’s “facts” come from. You’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

My daughter has a pittie who is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle dog. On the other hand, I was once bitten by a golden retriever. It’s wrong to paint with such broad strokes

@Delta From what I read of ADA guidelines, a service animal can only be banned if it's unruly. It's unjust to ban a breed; if an animal is well-trained and under control, it should be allowed to do its job. - 1 more reply

Every Pit I've ever met has been very kind and very well trained. This rule is based on stereotypes and not right. I thought the animal had to pass tests in order to be considered "service". Btw- some people are less behaved on a flight!

Looks like she’s about to devour a small child holding a pet gerbil named Sally. I’m with Delta on this one.

This is so wrong! Pitbulls as a breed are not dangerous.
