& THAT’s why you never ASS-U-ME
I’m sure they’ll be using this as an example of what not to do when paramedics & ambulances
are on scene. #AreYouSurepic.twitter.com/7N1JVNv5bF

"A 17-year-old boy died early Tuesday, NEARLY A FULL DAY after he was shot in the head in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood. Paramedics had covered him with a sheet as they treated others wounded in the same shooting." There is no excuse.

He was shot 3 times in the head by gang gunfire. And this is the headline. I'm sure his pulse was very faint.
-
Which part of they didn’t check, didn’t you get. Typical American.
-
It’s funny how quick people are to judge paramedics. This headline is clearly done just for the clicks. Someone with 3 shots to their head is gone. They aren’t gonna not check for pulse.
-
I agree. Not one of us was there. I'm sure the scene was chaotic. They act like the medics killed this kid instead of a gang member.

For future reference: Check the neck artery, the radial artery, and get a mirror and hold it over the nose. If it steams up, they ain't dead yet. You assume NOTHING.

So they didn't bother to check for a pulse just look at him and see me was dead wow
-
Called triage. His pulse was probably too faint to feel.
-
I ain't no paramedic it just seem like a common sense thing to do but I was not aware of that other thing

Did they not check for a pulse he might have survived had he been checked.
-
He may not have had a pulse that could be felt when they were trying to save the other people.
-
More paramedics needed when chaos like this is going on
-
As a paramedic, I can tell you it is rare to have a shooting event like this and have enough paramedics. Many of the people responding are firefighters and ambulance drivers, not paramedics.
-
My point exactly just because you have taken a CPR class does not qualify you to work on injured people you are the ambulance driver with CPR dummies you do not get taught to check for a pulse you get taught to revive the person chest compressions and breathing into their mouth!
-
I’ve never done mouth-to-mouth breathing and I never will, but I get your point.
-
They have plastic to cover your mouth this was a cruel thing to say paramedics are supposed to save lives that what you got trained for smh I'm done talking to you!
-
I don’t get your point, but good bye and have a nice day :)
