Yes, it is unfortunate that the parent(s) broke a law for them to be separated from their children. Perhaps the question should be, why did they break the law when there was a possibility if you were caught that you may be separated from your children?

You think these poor, uneducated, foreigners know that? Think they’ve kept up with the news/current events while they were making their way how many hundreds of miles?
-
@tgara Do you think they know if they break the law in their home country and have to go to jail, there is a possibility of being separated from their children? I never stated they were uneducated. Are you stating everyone of these people are uneducated? -
I think there is a high likelihood that they have minimal education. These people come over here & do min.-wage jobs; not working as bankers, doctors, etc. They may well know the laws of their own countries. Doesn’t mean they know our laws. Do you know all the laws in Honduras?
-
I am not stating anyone may have minimal education like you state. No, I have never stated I know all the laws of Honduras, I am also not trying to enter Honduras illegally. I have heard from people it is nice, but if I wanted to go there I would do it legally.
-
Are you familiar with asylum? Sounds like you don’t even know all of the laws of our country, but you expect foreigners to know them.

Of course they say that because you lie. There are 25 ports of entry where there is no separation. If they cross illegally they are criminals. Criminals go to jail.
