This is ridiculous. The cop clearly states he recognized the guy from a prior shoplifting call from September. Turns out the cop was right. Nowhere in this video did I see the officer show any sign of racism that we’ve seen. This isn’t one of those times.

So a black man, who has an UPCOMING TRIAL for SHOPLIFTING at a JC Penney, was RECOGNIZED by a police officer WHILE IN A STORE similar to a JC Penney, and was told to WAIT BRIEFLY while he determined if there was an arrest warrant for him? And that's HARASSMENT? I got that right?
-
So this dude can only use Amazon and if he steps in a store it’s probable cause for being stopped by police? No wonder the penitentiary’s packed. Guess if I get a speeding ticket I can’t use the roads anymore in case a cop sees me.
-
Ridiculous analogy. If you're going to use a driving analogy don't use speeding. If you're pulled over for drunk driving at 2am and then months later you're out at 2am again driving the same car and the same officer sees you then you're damned right its reason to pull you over.
-
It’s actually not a reason to be pulled over, that’s *literally* what the 4th Amendment is there for, to protect citizens from harassment by authority. And thank god (actually the Founders) for that.

Baltimore PD is majority non-white btw, let's not let facts get in the way of a good race bait victim narrative story.
-
Read the tweet and look on a map. Baltimore City and Baltimore County are not one in the same. Baltimore County is predominately white. That said, this is yet another example of profiling.
-
Fair enough that's my mistake; but how can you tell this is profiling? I don't trust CBS' version of events at all, I think they're only highlighting this particular incident because it's a white cop stopping a black kid, and that fits the narrative and agenda they want to push
-
The video is all over Facebook. He is harassing the guy. So are we supposed to pretend racism doesn’t exist in the police force? Easy to say when you are white, and don’t have to fear for you or your family’s lives
-
Haven't seen the video, CBS didn't post it, but I do not trust the media's word anymore. Most of these incidences I'm supposed to get mad and cry police brutality about occur because the suspect was committing a crime and then resisted arrest.
-
How can “hey, I know that guy from this thing that happened a while ago” be construed as probable cause to stop someone? I think that’s why this is blowing up.

Keep this in mind, sometimes the store manager call the police department to check you out so they can blame it all on the cops.

I'm a white female and I've never been approached by an officer saying I "look like I have a warrant". That's straight up racist and harassment. Not okay.
-
except he DID have a warrant and the cop recognised him.
