First: It's not the baker's free speech, but his religious liberty. Second: The NFL, player's employer, has a right to set rules of conduct, and it's not a violation of free speech. Free speech is in regards to what the Government cannot do, not a private company.

it’s the difference between being an owner and an employee of a company. I don’t understand why this is so hard to understand. for the record I think the nfl and trump are being fucking stupid, but that’s their prerogative.

Because the baker decision was based on the freedom of religion clause in the 1st Amendment not the free speech clause these are the questions you got when journalist like @PeterAlexander don't know what they are talking about

I don’t know if the Supreme Court considered- even surreptitiously- the set-up factor in the cake case: left activists targeting a Christian bakery. After all, they could have targeted a Muslim Halal business. If I were a judge in any court, it would be my first question.

It was the baker's religious freedom, and freedom of speech is from GOVERNMENT infringement. It isn't freedom from the people not liking what they say - or do. They don't have freedom of speech on their employer's dime.
