Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond in the good ol’ USA, we have an EPA administrator that probably throws plastic in the ocean while clubbing baby seals.

Try teaching your children to put trash in the trash can for starters. People think that when they toss something in water it goes away. It doesn't. Who needs straws other then people with a disability. Get a Brita for home and stop buying water in plastic bottles.

Can I ask a dumb question. How is this stuff getting in the ocean? Who is putting it there? Surely no one is digging up landfills and dumping them in the pacific right? I am not saying it isn’t true, I just don’t understand.

I live near a very nice http://beach.My  husband and I took about a mile long walk on the beach. We only picked up pieces of plastic as we http://walked.By  the end of the walk we had about 2 pounds of plastic (straws, bottle caps, plastic bags).People are litterbugs!

Trash left on the beach washes out to sea when the tide rolls in. Plus cruise lines and even the US Navy have been known to dump trash in international waters. Humans are so short sighted when it comes to the environment.
