Steve Shand, charged w/ human smuggling, told conditions will be sent to him in jail to sign off on. Judge says Shand will remain in custody until plans are made for his transport back to Florida. Shand's attorneys ask for a private meeting with him. Meeting adjourned.

Steve Shand is appearing via video before a Minnesota judge for a detention & preliminary hearing. The Florida man is charged w/ transporting or attempting to transport illegal aliens. Investigators believe 4 victims froze to death trying to cross into the U.S.
