The older I get the more true this becomes: I can happily share a bed for awake-times I can even fall asleep with my beloved If I want to *stay* asleep, I absolutely need to be alone.

Figuring out we could have separate duvets/comforters was a game changer.

I did this with my ex and it was SO MUCH BETTER. Especially as someone who wakes easily with movement in the bed.

Separate bedrooms ftw.

This! I am a restless sleeper, he has insomnia and has trouble returning to sleep if woken. Separate bedrooms probably saved our marriage.

Most couples I know have a point where they have opposite schedules, sleeping issues, health issues, etc and end up sleeping apart. Sometimes it’s permanent or long term, sometimes intermittent or as needed. I think it’s very, very common, we just feel embarrassed to say it.

My husband and I had a conversation early-ish in our relationship where we determined that our preferred sleeping style is "I love you, don't touch me". We cuddle for 5-10 minutes, then go to our respective sides of the bed and sleep separately.pic.twitter.com/M06UnzicwB

And for the love of all that is holy, don't breathe on me either!
