The US banking regulators are part of the Basel Committee. They helped develop this guidance. They should implement it. If they don't agree with it, they should say why instead of hiding behind the need for more data or a difference in mandate.

We got lucky this year, but California still faces high & growing wildfire risk. We need more federal, state & local funding for ecological forest management & much expanded implementation.

The state avoided a third year of catastrophic wildfires because of a combination of well-timed precipitation and favorable wind conditions — or “luck,” as experts put it.
