We cannot mistake the significance of this moment. This is a time to stand on values, not bend toward injustice for political expediency that serves structural racism, mass incarceration & the police state. Thank you, for standing with us.

FYI there were 200+ white fascists on the stairwell in Albany today calling for bail rollback. If that doesn’t tell NYS electeds what adding a so called “public safety provision” will do to Black & Brown communities then we don’t know what will. [read thread]

Let's be clear: the attacks against are ENTIRELY racist in nature. If NYS responds to the calls for rollback - which aim to uphold white supremacist culture - they're validating these dangerous and violent ideologies & setting our state back.

In case you had doubts about whether the opposition to bail reform was rooted in racism and xenophobia, you can find your proof in this NYS GOP sponsored page. You SO expect to see it.

For far too long our criminal justice system has disproportionately affected black and brown communities, making affluence a major factor in how one is treated. The time has come to say enough. Thank you for tonight’s honor and we will continue to right these wrongs.

Stop lying to us, . If you are serious about ending this violence, stop making reckless statements like these. Listen to the victims, the rabbis, the defenders & mental health practitioners. We have real solutions. Rolling back bail reform ain't it.

Great news! has come out publicly in support of repealing the statute. Our trans immigrant members and allies have been working hard to get this done in Albany. The wind is at our backs to pass it this session!

“New York bail reform will level the playing field for people who don’t have access to means & get arrested for low-level offenses. People deserve to be home & in their community, not languishing in a jail system. The Senate Republicans don’t want that.”

We know community investment, treatment, affordable housing, and living wage jobs are better for public health and safety than incarceration. Join me in signing the pledge to stop attempts to use fear to perpetuate mass incarceration.
