That same year he also became a licensed EMT. Prior to moving to the Greater Sacramento area, Kosta worked for the Pleasanton Unified School District as a Teacher’s Aide. We are very excited about his addition to our support staff team!

Please welcome Kosta Tsivikas to the Amador-El Dorado Unit. He will be joining our finance staff based out of our unit headquarters. Kosta is originally from the Bay Area. He graduated from Sacramento State in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies with a minor in history.

In April of 2019 Krystal transferred to the Office Technician position for the Buena Vista contract in Amador County. In December of 2019 she promoted to Personnel Specialist at Camino Headquarters. Krystal's extensive knowledge will be an attribute! Congrats Krystal!

, Krystal went on to work as an Office Technician for El Dorado County in Child Protective Services. In 2016 Krystal returned to CAL FIRE when she accepted a position as a Communications Operator in the Camino ECC.

In 2020, Jeff promoted to Battalion Chief at the CAL FIRE Training Center, FFA Battalion. In 2022, Jeff transferred into the Fire Control Division as the Fire Control Coordinator. Congratulations on the promotion Jeff and welcome back!

In 2006, Jeff promoted to LT Fire Captain at Amador-El Dorado Unit at Dew Drop Station and in 2007 he became permanent Fire Captain B at Pine Grove Conservation Camp. In 2010 he transferred to Garden Valley Station he transferred to Training Bureau in 2017.

In 2002 he became a Permanent Fire Apparatus Engineer at Mt. Danaher Fire Station (Camino). As a Permanent Fire Apparatus Engineer, Jeff was able to work the fire season at Camino and then in Battalion 5 through the winter,

In 2001, Jeff promoted to LT Fire Apparatus Engineer at Pilot Hill Station and had the unique opportunity to also work as a 9 month Firefighter I in the Cameron Park and Pioneer Schedule A programs.

Jeff began his firefighting career in 1995 as a firefighter with the U.S Forest Service in the El Dorado National Forest on a Type 2 IA crew. In 1997 he was hired as a seasonal Firefighter I with CDF Amador-El Dorado Unit at Garden Valley Fire Station.

Today, we celebrate Diana Swart’s retirement after nearly 30 years with the Amador-El Dorado Unit. She started as a Personnel Specialist with AEU in 1994, later promoting to Senior Personnel Specialist. For the last three years she has been our unit’s Public Information Officer.

Ashes and wood debris must be completely cool before removing them to a container for proper disposal. Place ashes in a tightly covered metal container and keep the ash container at least 10 feet away from the home and any other buildings.

Also assisting, was El Dorado County Fire Protection District who transported 2 patients by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries. Grizzly Flat Road was closed for several hours while the hazardous materials were being mitigated. Propane was burned off in order

On November 25th at CAL FIRE responded to a 2 vehicle traffic collision involving a pickup and a propane truck on Grizzly Flat Road in El Dorado County. CAL FIRE assisted the Pioneer Fire Protection District, and Placerville CHP with the response involving hazardous materials.
