Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

Exactly. Few were particularly concerned about the criminal conviction nor the strike off. It was the GMC going against its own tribunal in wanting to make a temporary strike off permanent that started the "movement". Hopefully more details will be released.

You mean when we realised we now had a regulator, who would decide after 35 years to ignore and contradict the rulings of MPTS - the body charged with deciding our fitness to practice by the Medical Act 1983 Yep, that got us involved And to question GMC actions + motives

Um. Doesn't the MPTS report to the GMC?

It's supposed to be the independent decision making body, that's the issue.

Not saying that it hasn't set some sort of new precedent like you say but MPTS was only spun off in 2012 and the GMC had to go to the high court to overrule...

If you're talking about MPT tribunals not under the banner of the MPTS as a separate organisation - they were still operating under the GMC.

Yes I know rules have been changed over years, but recent changes appear to have been implemented in peculiar manner - and why very unclear.

There are a lot of things about that letter which make me shift uncomfortably in my seat as I read them, tbh. Noteworthy it's from a doctor (as well as an MP) inviting suggestions for changes in regulation / legislation that applies to doctors, from a doctor-funded organisation.

I just read that part as standard lip service when replying to an MP and not really much would come out of it 🧐
