But the @MPS_Medical said that the statement to CPS by consultant had the reflection attached. Even if not directly used in court it would have guided the data gathering/questioning by police and prosecution

I agree with that, which is why the GMC appears wrong, and the MPS apologia is suspect. But it was the bit about the tribunal I was questioning, because that was scrutinised precisely because it was provided.

And if it wasn't provided that would have counted against her. Which is what trainees were concerned about, damned if they do, damned if they don't

To be honest, I have less problem with what the tribunal has done here than what the CPS, court and then subsequently the GMC have.

My biggest problem is with what was done or not done for Jack.

My biggest problem in all this is preventing anything like this happening to another Jack by learning the right lessons and taking the evidence from around the world about what works in ensuring the highest of safety standards for all patients, no matter what their background.

Will your aim be achieved by Dr Bawa-Garba's appeal(s) and potential reinstatement? By a potential retrial (or whatever is planned) - is anyone really sure, without seeing the trial transcript that she was not 'truly exceptionally bad?'

Would all the doctors subscribing to the
#iamhadiza have made all 21+ mistakes that she did (I haven't seen a list, has anyone?). Is 21+ errors acceptable to other doctors in the light of her working conditions that day? Would they also be acceptable to patients?3 replies 3 retweets 9 likes -

Where does the reference to “21 mistakes” come from? I think the term the prosecution used was “numerous”. Which can mean 3 or 4.. A list would be useful information.

And this is why transcript would be useful

Exactly. Language is a lawyer's only weapon. 'Numerous' can mean pretty much anything except zero by the time they're done twisting it. We really need that transcript to remove as much of the speculation as possible now. Making 21 errors would appear harder to defend if true.
