Yes - there have been a lot [although personally my coping method is to largely ignore that discussion - I will never understand it well enough to hold a detailed opinion about that specific case].https://twitter.com/C7RKY/status/961930014928375808 …

Good strategy Mike! :) There's not enough available information for anyone to reach a firm conclusion yet anyway, in the absence of the original trial transcript. Too much assumption and speculation so far.

If the case makes doctors 'too defensive' then that will not be a good thing - it is easy to agree that far as a general point. Even judges rulings can be 'unclear' - for example read the Tracey ruling (chaotic mess as to what actually happened!).

It is a bad thing, of course, but everything's relative here. Several of us have learned through experience that there are many doctors who behave defensively anyway. In many ways, that's exactly what has led us to this 'clash' of perspectives, imho. Tipping point ahead.

My mum's GP wasn't defensive at all. However the PCT was hopeless, although probably more a case of 'deeply inappropriate communication' than outright defensiveness. I'm sure that some doctors - and nurses - are defensive though: and my online time is over for today, now.
