No one is denying that the majority of medical staff are committed and caring. No patient/ relative attendance at M&M or feedback, little candour due to multiple factors.
There already are more Jacks, imho. It's just unusual that we have cause to know more about Jack's tragic case than most.

Every system has a failure rate. Children will continue to die, despite the best intentions and efforts. But children born now have better prospects than ever before, and we can still see ways to improve. The fight is worth fighting, even though we can’t win them all.

Yes. That’s what also hurts. Medicine has many, many successes. Jack himself was a product of a system of trial and error (he had congenital heart disease and wouldn’t have survived till 6 without people operating and making mistakes on many other young children)

It depends on what you mean by more Jacks. More avoidable deaths? Yes. More unfortunate deaths? Also yes. We need to move forward from here in a way that improves safety for everyone.
