We all carry unconscious biases John. As individuals & groups. Our conversations hold up a mirror to our blind spots. We civilise each other. We have to learn to love each other. -
'We civilise each other' That's a great way of putting it. But do you know what's really sad? When I consider our own case, the only way I could find of doing that was to seek to have the doctor criminally prosecuted. Because absolutely nothing else I did made a jot of difference

Likewise, I understand. It's not insignificant that we try everything else first. More serious action is what happens when being reasonable gets ignored. It's not rocket science. They could avoid it all without difficulty if candour was a reality.
