I'd have loved for us to have been given that choice. We'd have forgiven. No question - we're all human. There would've been no complaint, no lawyers, no police and treatment to correct life-threatening error would've been prompt. Alas, it was covered up.

Cover ups will now start immediately. If harm or death occurred I or a Colleague may end up in Court, so why not turn a blind eye or anonymise everything so much that no learning for systems improvement can happen?

Did you seriously just write that? You have 10,000 followers who listen to what you have to say. Their actions may be guided by your words. I expect more of you Gordon. Stop it. That doesn't help

It is what I said would happen if doctors with exemplary records (#DavidSellu is a far better Clinician than me) are sacrificed and made out to be criminals. We said 'There but for the Grace of God, go I' but there is no Grace now

John I am absolutely not advocating this turn a blind eye approach but it will be an ordinary human sometimes subconscious response to @gmcuk action in High Court against #BawaGarba Why else is @Jeremy_Hunt so flustered?

This will just be an opportunity for all the corrupt Doctors who already cover up to have an excuse for doing so and your tweets suggest to some that you are advocating this approach

Some thought I was a bit OTT when I redacted some of my talk (as the GMC and CPS were in the room) last year on #BlackBoxThinking https://videos.rsm.ac.uk/video/black-box-thinking … now everyone will be redacting. VERY Very sad #JustCulture

A witch hunt approach to hospital errors encourages cover ups. A truth. A fair approach accepting failings beyond the individual and allowing learning to occur so as not to repeat mistakes. Encourages honesty. A truth. The proportions of 'good' or 'bad' doors not change.

Myself and @ClinicalHF colleagues have been working behind the scenes over the past few days on the implications of the #BawaGarba ruling. This has included meetings with significant organisations and individuals, and will continue.

I have explained myself fully in reply to your previous, antagonistic tweet I do not need to read them. I wrote them. I stand by my tweet, it's message is serious. My reflections, once, a point of learning are now more fantasy than reality. #BawaGarba impact on learning

I'll ask you the same as I asked Gordon. Given that the reflections were not used and despite the existence of professional & contractual duties of candour existing, what's your excuse for changing stance? I see no justifiable reason. Just hysteria.https://twitter.com/C7RKY/status/959149507412885504 …

Why? Are you planning on being grossly negligent any time soon then? Because that was her crime, Gordon and her reflections were only brought in by the defence & stopped by the judge anyway. So what's your excuse? And here's my earlier tweet which got lost https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/959141110479286272 …

Maybe your statement refers to my reference about deleting my reflections with poor outcomes? Before the #BawaGarba case I reflected on all cases. Good and bad. Most often the bad cases contained no fault. The outcomes were just poor. I find this improved me as a Dr

...... And in so doing improve the care I give to my patients and my community. Post #BawaGarba I will not reflect on cases with poor outcomes. I will not learn from these cases as I should. This case threatens open learning and negatively affecting patient care No one wins.

I'm glad you like it. Don't exactly see what you mean by truth? I feel that reflections are an important learning tool and that using them in criminal cases will affect the integrity of learning hence making poorer doctors and harming patients.
