Eventually, he 'emerged' severely autistic, unable to walk, talk, look you in the eye, or do anything he was able to do beforehand. The medical world says there's no link. After a little research, I conclude the medical world is full of shit. Just a personal opinion, of course :)
-
week before MMR walked up to my dad and said hello grandad (approx 20 months old) then had the MMR and growls for 3 years and no talking
-
Oh.. Andrew. It doesn't matter how many people tell me about their experience, (and there have been LOTS) it still gives me a lump in my throat every time. I'm so sorry. How's he doing now?
-
I'm not allowed to mention him online at the moment thanks to some very nasty people... But I can if you wish do as I have with others and help you to get to know him and him you sir
-
You're not? Oh dear. That sounds troubling. Not sure I understand the help you're referring to here? But perhaps that's because don't feel able to say.
-
I spent my sons life researching and working with many people on the spectrum, and hired by the county council to work in schools. So with personal history I can help parents to better understand and help form strategies that work, and have done successfully sir. So I offer help

We have to. We have no choice, sadly. It's the only way to get to the truth. Nobody will tell us, duty of candour or not. But you knew that already...

the head banging etc was corrected by tickling believe it or not. fortunately my boy decided he'd rather attack me and get tickled than bash his head on the floor or attack his sister
-
Aah... good old sensory input via tickling? Brilliant! Can work miracles to offset the proprioception, eh? It's still a huge thing for us. I'm still used as a climbing frame / slide / trampoline / chair most days. :)
-
you need to "become autistic" to help too. Unlikely to be accepted by him if you don't sir
-
I believe I understand what you mean - and I believe I do, when required. We're a long way from those dark days, thankfully, so it's no longer a constant for us. But still a long way to go too.
-
Obviously I have no idea age of your lad and what has happened in his life so far, or what strategies you have used either

I've never forgotten John your traumatic time & all the research you shared on twitter .. I soaked it all up & shared with many .. forever grateful
my son never had MMR for our little granddaughter, we couldn't take the risk. I sincerely hope things have improved for you all x -
Thank you Ann. In no small way, a tweet like this makes all the research worthwhile. Seriously. xx

Horrible - but I'm sure you know, you need lots of 'cases' to distinguish between causation and coincidence. I'm not informed, re the MMC debate, so I can't comment on that one.
