Niggling thought of the day:
Why are doctors saying that this week GMC made patients less safe?
Why were patients still safe when #BawaGarba got convicted of gross negligent manslaughter, but we're not now she's been struck off?
Does loss of career hold more fear than conviction?

I agree. But I had not even heard of the original court trial. There was much less news or twitter activity. Obvious really - that piles up over time.

True. More awareness. Also more detail - which means more docs have recognised aspects of their own experience in the case.

I'll be honest, as someone who has followed the medical debate closely on twitter for several years, I'm amazed. Normally, something of this nature is picked up at the earliest stage and analysed to within an inch of its life very widely. Uncharacteristic, hence my confusion.

ZHH The incident was in 2011?

I believe so? Not sure what other coverage there was, but there was this from 2017 which should've been more than enough to set alarm bells ringing if required.https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/956889953031598080 …
